Daylight Savings begins March 11
And ends November 4. President Bush changed this as part of his energy plan last year. You may recall that daylight savings time always began on the first Sunday in April and ended in October. This may cause a small disaster due to the fact that automated systems will not change their clocks as their programming may not be changed in time.
“It has angered airlines, delighted candy makers and sent thousands of technicians scrambling to make sure countless automated systems switch their clocks at the right moment. Unless changed by one method or another, many systems will remain programmed to read the calendar and start daylight saving time on its old date in April, not its new one in March.” - Washington Post, 1 February 2007
Good thing I have the latest release of Mac OS X (10.4.6). Apple corrected this. Read more buzz.
Bribed to say global warming is not real
Believe it. Scientists all over the world have concluded for the first time the humans, in fact, are the main cause for global warming. Meanwhile, these same scientists and economists “have been offered $10,000 each by a lobby group funded by one of the world’s largest oil companies to undermine a major climate change report…”
“Letters sent by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), an ExxonMobil-funded thinktank with close links to the Bush administration, offered the payments for articles that emphasise the shortcomings of a report from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).” - Guardian, 2 February 2007
I found it hilarious that Paris dimmed the Eiffel Tower for five minutes as a symbol of concern for climate change. Five minutes. More buzz on climate change.
