Disney Celebrates Values

I mentioned previously that one thing Disney has not lost is a stellar philosophy of life and dreaming. Sure, their parks and attractions are missing what used to make them great, but what stands is wholesome values.

I read a great column written by Joseph Reisert, professor at Colby College. He just came back from a trip to Walt Disney World and says that no one should be afraid to say they love Disney. It stands for more than movies or entertainment. It stands for family and values.

“Tens of thousands of people from around the country and around the world visit the Disney parks every day — far more people visit the Magic Kingdom on a typical August day than live in the city of Waterville — yet they are all treated with consideration and respect by the staff, and there is scarcely any crime or even any conflict.” - Kennebec Journal, 25 August 2006

Disney stands for a bright look at the world no matter how bad it can get. We each have the power to make a difference for ourselves and others.
