Quality Disney Blogs

To me, Disney represents so many things. Not just top notch movies (for the most part) or superior theme park design, but an experience like no other. It’s Disney’s classic imagination, skill, and creativity that goes into all their work. It is something so special and timeless that mistakes made by the company are amplified and often filter through the blogosphere and among passionate Disney fanatics. The recent concern is Disney’s leaning from classic, well thoughtout and planned theme park attractions to attractions created for a thrill to match the competition. Instead of leading the innovation curve, the parks are now attempting to live up to the competition and thrill seekers.

There have been a few excellent blogs that are devoted to this very thing: Mis-steps Disney has taken in recent years. Disney without Walt has really affected the creativity of the company. These blogs are well written and full of quality and depth. These are worth regular reading if you like to follow Disney.

Re-Imagineering Blog - Written by Disney and Pixar professionals, this blog discusses Imagineering missteps and possible solutions to restore some of the wonder and magic that’s been missing from Disney parks.

EPCOT Central - The same idea as the Re-Imagineering but focused on Epcot.

Wandering Down Main Street, USA - Posting on Disney news, this blog also has lots of commentary on Disney past and some of the magic that’s missing from the parks. There was a good post on how the Disney-MGM Studios are not so much studios anymore.
